Merry Christmas and Thank You!
I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry & safe Christmas - no matter what you celebrate - the ideal of wishing the ultimate in goodness and blessings on someone is never wrong. I also wish to extend my thanks to all of you who have supported me in my creative endeavors this year - I have grown by leaps and bounds, yet still have so far to go. I pray that I never hit that "ceiling" because to me, that means my creative drive is gone. As a small token of my appreciation for all of you out there, I have put together a holiday goodie that will not be available anywhere else - just to my blog readers here!
So without further ado - here is your present from me!
You can download this goodie from You Send It here.
As always, I would love for you to leave comments - let me know what you think of my work, suggestions, constructive criticism, etc. I really and truly love hearing from all of you!

Got a Freebie for you...and...my name is 'Grace'
I neat little journal block from my Autumn Apples kit at the Candie Shoppe!
Don't forget...every Thursday night at 9pm eastern standard time I am the crazy hostess of the Croppers Anonymous Chat in the DCS chatroom! If you want an hour packed full of fun, chatting, prizes and inspiration then come on down!
I took some pictures over the weekend of my dog (lol...she just ADORES the camera, shows me her butt every chance she gets), and some neat foliage shots. I'll have those up tomorrow when I download them from my camera.
Now...the reason why my name is ahem, 'Grace'.
I am not by nature a person who has an abundance of coordination - if there's a doorjamb to clip, a crate to trip over, a cabinet door that I can bang my forehead into - rest assured, I'll do it. You've already seen my adventure with the Xacto knife, so you'd think by NOW, I'd have caught on right?
Nope.
I was making pork ribs for dinner the other night in the oven because it was just too cold and rainy to do it out on the grill. (Believe it or not, the grill is a MUCH safer method of preparing dinner lol.) I saw that the ribs were a little more brown than I wanted them, and in my haste, I pulled the pan out waaaay too fast.
Yep, I splashed hot pork grease/juice all over my right forearm. Ouch.
Now, that day I had worn 3/4 sleeves, so I had nothing covering my forearm at all.
I didn't swear (really I didn't!), I just put the pan on top of the stove, turned to the sink, and ran my arm under the cold water. Wow, did it hurt! After I'd done that for a few minutes, I decided to call and tell my tale of woe to my sister and my husband. I called my sister first, because she'd laugh at me a little less (she's a lot like me hehehe). She yells at me to keep cold, wet cloths on it, and to go to the ER if it blisters. No problem. I call my husband, and his first question is if he has to race home from work to get me to the ER LMAO. I tell him I am fine and to not worry. He waited about an hour and called back to tell me that based on my track record, he'd like me to just go sit on our bed and watch television until he gets home. I can't possibly get into any trouble that way.
He forgets that our mattress is REALLY high - the top of it is up over my waist. I could fall off and hurt myself. I remind him, and he tells me it's better than falling down the stairs. *Sigh* he's right....but I'd still hurt myself lol.
So, my arm is fine - it never developed blisters, and was only slightly red - boy was I lucky! I have to cook dinner tonight again though, so I am going to have to be extra careful ROTFL.
Now that you've listened to my crazy story, and you know that I am a disaster waiting to happen - here's the preview & download link for the journal block!

O.K. - here are the pictures!
Here's this week's Croppers Anonymous Poster:
The poster shows the new products that are featured at the crop tonight as well as the attendance gift:
"What I Want" Full and Mini kits (the Mini Kit will be added soon!) - my contribution to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These kits coordinate with the P4D "What I Want" Mega Kit that was featured in the October 2006 issue of Scrapbook Answers. I am honored to have contributed to the project, and I beleive that no matter how small YOU think your effort is, it will speak VOLUMES to someone else! You can pre-order the hard copy CD here.
Hope to see you in the chat room at 9pm EST!
Don't forget - Croppers Anonymous Chat Tonight @ 9pm est!
Tonight we're having another crop - and there will be a prize for attending (I'll post that when I get home from work tonight), as well as prizes for a game we'll be playing. All I can say is....make sure you read up on ME, because that's what this game has to do with *G*
I'm so sorry I don't have previews of the prizes up (actually, I'm only going to post the attendee prize preview here - the other will be a surprise until the crop starts!), but I'm doing this "on the fly" from work. I PROMISE to get you pictures! I also have a few new products up in the shop, but those previews are also going to be posted later on.
So, if you dare...meet me in the candieshoppe chat room at 9pm eastern standard time (8 pm central, 7 pm mtn, 6 pm pacific) and I promise to show you a good time!

Can you beleive it??
-----------------
You KNOW you have an addiction.
You want so many of the shiny pretty scrappy things you see in the shops.
But what do you do when you get them "home" to your hard drive??
This Thursday night I am embarking on my "maiden voyage" as a crop hostess - that's right, I've NEVER done this before! I want to meet up with scrappers like myself who sometimes get stymied when they have a kit to work with - how do you take that first step in creating the LO that will say what YOU want it to?

Lots of GREAT News!!!
Before I forget...the second part of my blog being "tagged" was a list of 7 favorite songs. You have to understand, being the true Gemini that I am, the list is in a constant state of flux, but as of today, these are the favorites (in no particular order):
1. Mockingbird (version by Toby Keith & Krystal Covell)
2. Ain't No Other Man by Christina Aguilera
3. Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder
4. Beast on the Mic by Cowboy Troy
5. Flirting by Jess Klein
6. Not That Kind by Anastacia
7. Eat the Rich by Aerosmith
There...it's done Michelle :P:P
O.K. BIG doings on the DigiScrapping front for me. First of all, the site, Creative Chicas, has re-opened today under the name "Digital Candie Shoppe" (http://candieshoppe.com). It is the same great store, wonderful designers, freebies, challenges, etc. just the name's changed. Actually..that's a little lie (rotfl) - we are ALWAYS striving to give you something new, and if you wander on over, you just might see some fun festivities to join in. I heard through the grapevine, that some crazy DCS Girl (that's what our designers are called) named Athena (have no CLUE who she is hehehe) is going to be hosting a crop, and in fact will make it a regular event.
The store is holding a fantastic Grand Opening sale with a 50% off coupon - here's a copy of the ad with the coupon:
It's only good from October 1st through the 7th, so don't miss it!
The second exciting thing is that I have been accepted as a member of the Element Team at Elemental Scraps! This team is responsible for working with the designers to create the great Mega Kits they offer every month, as well as all sorts of goodies that are given away as prized throughout the month. I'm in some amazing company there and I am excited to work with them.
And the last, but certainly not least in way of news - I have the honor of being one of the designers featured on the P4D (http://promos4digiscrappers.com) 2007 Breast Cancer Awareness Kit! Again, I am in some amazing company - a lot of the designers that I highly respect (lol..and buy from) are part of this - and it is for a VERY worthy cause! This will be a hard copy product, due to the overwhelming response from last year's Mega Kit, and if you read this month's ScrapBook Answers Magazine (http://www.scrapbookanswers.com/current_issue.html) there is an Ad for the P4D BCA fundraising kit. The magazine is sold in Barnes & Noble for sure (that's where I've been buying it), but you can also subscribe at the SA site itself.
That's all the news I have for now! Take care of yourselves, and thank you for reading!

I've been tagged...twice!

1. Love to bowl 10 pin (my sister calls me the "bowling geek") and own a pair of shoes just for that.
2. I absolutely CANNOT eat pineapple warm or hot (so no Hawaiian pizza for me!).
3. I love music - right now Toby Keith and Trace Adkins are my favorite "get going" songs.
4. I am not a chocolate eater (even during "that time" *weg*)
5. I can't start the lawnmower (I swear I can't, I'm not just saying it hon I swear!).
I'm tagging....mwaahahaha Michelle, Miss Tiina, Tanya & Rae Rae,
LilBumbleBee, and Poppy Andrews

Respect the X-acto knife!
I am working on a new kit and some various goodies - and I promise that I will post previews and samples here for you - but in the meantime, here is a lonely piece of paper looking for a nice home to be scrapped in.
I will have the template available that I used for the pattern in the near future as well, so if that's something you are interested in, keep your eyes peeled!

Got a neat new blog toy!
Today is a holiday for me here in the U.S. (Labor Day), but good GOD were there (and still are) major sales this weekend! And since I am the 'scrapwhore' you know I had to hit a few! I bought The View From The Top, Peacefulness, Summer Splash and Rock-N-Bowl by Cheryl Whitesel, Bejeweled , and the fancy border templates 1-5 by Kashiabean, Melonicious by SeaScraps, and Casual Mornings, Summer Lovin', Country America, and last but certainly not least, Earthy Fields by Michelle Conrad.
Now, before you think I truly have a nast addiction to scrap stuff, these kits were all on sale at The Daily Scrap for $1.50 per kit. Some of them still are, plus they have TONS more kits on sale, so head on over there to check out their deals. I think the sale ends completely tonight, thought I saw at least one of the kits I bought yesterday that was on sale, at full price today.
Oy vey...I guess I'd better get scrapping huh? LOL I also attended my first crop today at TDS which used the Summer Splash kit I bought yesterday (how advantageous say you!). Can you believe I've NEVER been to a crop before? I did attend another scheduled one somewhere else, but it had been cancelled (none of us knew), so we hung out and shared tips for scrapping. I got an attendance prize (we all did lol) and there will be a posting one if I can get my butt in gear and post a LO to the TDS gallery by Friday night. I'll have to keep you posted on that *weg*

Anyone want a goody???
This is my "What a Beach" kit - you know how I am, I have to be a little tongue in cheek when I name stuff - hence the name of this kit lol.
And this was just added this morning! This is what happens when you are stuck on hold at work, and you find yourself playing with your office supplies *weg*.
To see larger previews of these items and a bunch of the other designers' offerings click here .
Now...on to your Labor Day weekend surprise goody!!!
I wanted to offer a sampler of my What a Beach kit to the people crazy enough to read my blog and put up with my insane ramblings (we won't mention the Red Sox today...they've had a rough month to put it mildly). So here's what you will get in your goody bag:
Not bad huh? Just a little something to keep those Summer memories alive *G*

All good things must come to an end *g*
The last few days have been really odd here where I live; it's gone from humid and mid eighties to 65 and really breezy in a matter of a day. The meteorologist says it's not going to be on the warm side again until Monday. Heck, he even showed the low temp for Saturday as 48 degrees. 48 degrees?!?!?!?!? I'm not ready for it to be Fall again! I know the kids are going back to school soon (if they haven't already), and that makes some parents breathe a sigh of releif. To me, it just signifies all of the "lazy days" coming to an end, and that makes me a little sad.
Before I forget...here's the last preview and download for the Southwest Shabby kit. Congratulations! If you've downloaded all of the previous links (and I can see that you all have hot download fingers LOL!) then you will have the entire thing. Show me what you do with it - I am really interested to see how you express yourselves creatively!! I also realize that some people don't find rapidshare really friendly. I'm looking into alternatives for that, so be on the lookout.

We have veggies!
I went out to the garden today and we have one ripe tomato, one pepper that is HUGE and another that is growing. I haven't seen any of the eggplants or the zuccinis yet - the flowers are there, but the vegetable isn't showing yet. My husband is the gardener (thank god) - I have a black thumb (killed cactus plants once). All I get to do is water it when needed when my husband is away. Thankfully, Mother Nature has been seeing to that *G*.
Here's the next installmet to the kit - I appreciate all of the wonderful comments you all have made!

Monday Monday
Ick..it's Monday again :P Today it hit me harder than normally because I ended Saturday (and began Sunday) by having an severe insomniac "session". I got up at 8 AM on Saturday, went to bed at 11:30 PM Saturday night, but couldn't sleep. I made myself lay there until 1:42 AM, and then got up to do something other than stare at the ceiling. I was so wide awake I saw the sun come up lol. I fell asleep somewhere around 6:30 AM Sunday, but had to be up no later than 10 AM because I had a hair appointment (yep, on a Sunday *G*). Sunday night/Monday morning, I had to make sure my DH was up to leave for his business trip. So while I slept solidly when I was asleep, I was screwed up from getting up in the middle of the night. Tonight I should be absolutely OBLIVIOUS LOL! You'd have thought with all of that time awake I would have posted another installment of the SW Shabby kit, but nooooo...my remaining braincell was fried (Sorry about that!). Well, let me make up for it today by giving you the next part - some pretty neat brushes (if I do say so myself!).
Before you download...I need to make a request though...and I know it's happening (not telling you how though - you can figure that out heheh). Please do not forward the download links to the parts of this kit - if you want to share these goodies (and I am all for you doing that), would you please send people to the blog itself so they can download it? Thank you in advance - you guys are the BEST!

Here's what you'll be getting!
Sunday, August 06, 2006
I FINALLY did it!!
I finally did it. I don't think pigs are flying, nor hell frozen over, but I posted my first layout in a gallery. I've been at odds with doing one, because I don't have any kids, and the DH isn’t really excited about being in any photographs. So, I did the next best thing, and shot one of his favorite spring/summer pursuits – the vegetable garden. My DH is a very technically minded, fix-anything-that's mechanical kind of guy, so when he first brought up having a veggie garden to me a few years ago, I was clearly skeptical. I have to say, he's got an amazing green thumb though – as opposed to mine which is black and withering *weg* (I killed cactus – need I say more?)
Here are the notes on my layout:
Fonts Used: Amorie, Arial Black
Doodle by: Elemental Creations
Software: Photoshop CS2
Equipment: Wacom Graphire 3 Tablet
Journaling: My own (messy!) handwriting
Completed August 6th, 2006

Hot enough for you?
I don't know what it is, but extreme heat (more so than the cold) seems to make people more spacey, short tempered, and given to saying (and doing) things that anyone with an ounce of common sense would know is a really bad idea. I'm no exception to this *weg*
My DH and I went out to run errands yesterday and found ourselves at 'Wally World' (WalMart), which is my least favorite place simply because there seems to be an abundance of people there who will look you straight in the eye and stop dead in front of something you are trying to look at. We were looking at a display of DVD's, and this family of several adults with toddlers stop RIGHT in front of us and begin looking at the very same display! One of them turned around and looked my DH right in the eye (as he was craning his neck around them to still see), and turned back around to look at the DVD's at their leisure. It was all I could do not to tap her on the shoulder and say, "Please, no hurry, whenever YOU'RE done, we'll get back to looking at the DVD's."
If that wasn't bad enough, I heard and saw no less than three sets of parents with kids allowing them to run wild, be loud, and yell at them because they didn't like what they were being told. Holy hell, if myself or one of my sisters had done that when we were kids, we would have been punished without blinking an eye. I don't have kids of my own, but I HAVE done 'long term rentals' (otherwise known as guardianship), taught sunday school (Yeah, I know...me...in a church...and it didn't implode on me!), and I can tell you that it's becoming more and more apparent to me that in a lot of cases, kids run their households; parents are just a figurehead. It's so sad....
And now that you've put up with my crazy ranting (definitely because of the heat and humidity here), I have a little goodie for you! I was playing around with alternate alpha type sets, and since I am a music freak, thought this was an appropriate start:-)

Never Say Never
I've visited blogs. I've even left a comment or two. I've NEVER considered actually publishing my own. I couldn't possibly have anything to say that you'd want to read - could I? Doesn't matter really; You are going to get the pleasure of my rambling anyhow :-). If you don't find my sense of humor (sarcastic, silly AND dry all in one shot), or my subject matter appealing, no worries; I won't be insulted. Variety is the 'spice of life' and I'd really hate to think that there wasn't at least one person who disagreed or couldn't relate to me. That's why I really like people who tend to think outside of the box - because frankly, it's awfully dark in there!
Alright, figured I'd provide you with a freebie brush set for scrapping, tagging, etc. formatted for photoshop. However, if you aren't a PS user, I also included the PNG files for you. Here's a preview of the set:
